Real newborn photo session with siblings
I have many families for whom I have photographed their first child and they come back for their second baby photos too. In fact, next year I will have families who will be returning with their third babies! It is amazing to become a family photographer and see these kids growing up. I feel so honoured to be part of such a special events.
Newborn photo sessions with siblings can be challenging, especially with two year olds who are just discovering their personality and mind set. I have seen it (and my own kids were no different!). I always try to make some sort of deal with them in order to achieve what I’m after. Sometimes it works, and sometimes… not so much.
I would like to share with you a full session with two siblings. I think this will represent how things went. It wasn’t exactly easy to get Henry in photos. He kept running away and I had only those rare split seconds to grab a shot. This time dad made a deal with him and we managed to get some nice family shots and with 3 kids together too. You will also see some nice individual portraits of kids and parents too. I feel it’s important that I always try to get these done.
Since there are siblings involved, these sessions can take a while to be completed. I think this newborn session took us 4+ hours, but we were rewarded with an amazing selection of photos to treasure.
